Focus on the Solution
Much engagement with service providers and public representatives tends to focus on what is not working.
While it is important for decision makers to know about and have evidence of problems, this is only the first step. Talk to others about what the solutions might be, and spend more time when you are engaging with decision makers talking about the solution and its benefits. If you can back up the solution you are suggesting by pointing to examples of where it has worked well elsewhere, this will strengthen your case.
