Follow up

Ensure that those you have involved in your processes are kept informed of what progress is (or is not) being made. Even if there is no news, let people know. Follow up is essential for keeping people interested and willing to engage further.

The same goes for decision makers. If you do manage to engage with a local Councillor, MLA, MP or MEP, stay connected. They will have many issues brought to them every day. So even if you have a positive meeting with a decision maker, follow it up within an agreed timeframe to see how things are progressing.
